Reciprocating Air Compressor:

A reciprocating air compressor or piston air compressor is a positive displacement air compressor which uses crankshaft driven pistons to distribute gases at high pressure.
The intake air or gas enters the inlet valve ,then the compression flows into the cylinder, where it is compressed by a piston which driven in a reciprocating motion through crankshaft, and then it is discharged. Reciprocating Air Compressor and Piston Air Compressor are mainly used in these places, oil refineries, chemical plants, gas pipelines and natural gas processing plants and refrigeration plants. Reciprocating Air Compressor is used specifically to make plastic bottles made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Reciprocating Air Compressor Working:

Reciprocating type air compressor has a piston attached inside the cylinder and is equipped with suction and discharge valve. The piston gets electricity from the main shaft through crankshaft and connecting rod. A flywheel or belt wheel is mounted on the crankshaft which is operated by electric motor or diesel engine.

It provides a similar speed during the operation cycle. Compression of the air First, by piston, by suction valve during the suction stroke, the amount of air in your cylinder is painted and then melted through the compression and discharge on the return stroke of the piston.

1. Single Stage Reciprocating Air Compressor
Air compressor in the same phase, mutually, the entire compression is done in a cylinder. If compression is affected in one end of the piston and cylinder, then it is known as single acting and if compression is affected in both ends of the piston and cylinder, then it is known as Double Acting Respirational Air Compressor.


2. Double Stage Reciprocating Air Compressor
Double stages or two stage piston air compressor or reciprocating air compressor consists of two cylinders. One is called low pressure cylinder and the other is called high pressure cylinder. When the piston in the low-pressure cylinder is at its outer dead center, the weight of the air inside the cylinder is zero, because the piston moves forward under the pressure of the internal dead center, due to pressure, the atmospheric pressure and the opening of the suction valve opens .
